  • Complete all sections of the appropriate registration form. Please sign and date where indicated. Incomplete or illegible forms will be returned to you, and will delay your registration. We cannot hold a space for your camper until all registration information is complete.
  • Please complete a separate form for each camper for day camp, resident camp, and Women's Weekend; and a separate form for each family for Family Camp.
  • Indicate the desired session(s) and program(s). For Eagle Island, include alternate program only if you will accept placement if your first choice program is full.
  • If the deposit is in the form of a check or money order, print the camper’s name on the face of the check or money order. Be sure it is made payable to GSGEHC for Eagle Island Camp or GSWRC for Camp Lou Henry Hoover. A $35.00 fee will be charged for any returned checks.
  • Campers may request to be placed with one friend. Both campers must be registered in the same program and session, and they must request each other. Requests will only be honored if space is available in desired program. Requests to be placed with more than one friend cannot be accommodated.
  • A confirmation packet and an invoice for the balance due will be sent to the camper. All the information in the packet should be reviewed immediately since forms must be returned in a timely manner. It will include health forms, how to pay the balance of the fee, and camper information.
  • All forms must be originals. Due to problems with copy quality and readability, we can no longer accept faxed registrations. We recommend that you keep copies of all forms for your records.

Payment:

  • A $80.00 deposit is required for each session. Balance of fee is due by May 20, 2008. The council reserves the right to replace a camper with a name from the waiting list if full payment and paperwork are not received by May 20 th. Camper fees will not be returned.
  • Financial Assistance - Cost can be a big concern when sending your daughter to camp. Financial assistance is available for both Eagle Island Camp and Camp Lou Henry Hoover. If interested in applying for Financial Aid, you need to:
    1. Contact your local Girl Scout Council for the Financial Aid form.
    2. Be sure to check the Financial Aid box on the camp registration form.
    3. Send your camp registration form and deposit to the camp registrar.
    4. Be aware that if financial aid is denied, the deposit is refundable.
    5. Be aware that the girl must be a currently registered Girl Scout.
  • Mail completed registration form and non-refundable deposit ($80.00 per camper per session) OR remit the entire camp fee to: Girl Scout Council of Greater Essex and Hudson Counties, 120 Valley Road, Montclair, NJ, 07042, Attention: Camp.
  • An invoice for any balance due will be mailed along with your confirmation. Payment may be made by check, money order, VISA, or MasterCard. Please include camper's name on the check or money order. Checks returned by the bank will be charged a $30 service fee.

Cancellations/Refunds:

  • Written cancellations received prior to May 20, 2008 will receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee.
  • Written cancellations received after May 20, 2008, but more than three weeks prior to the campers’ arrival at camp, will receive a full refund MINUS the $80 deposit.
  • There will be no refunds for no-shows, or partial sessions due to homesickness, behavioral adjustment difficulties, late cancellation, early departure, late arrival, or schedule conflicts.
  • Written cancellations received with less than three weeks notice, will receive no refund, unless due to a death in immediate family or medical necessity that must be accompanied by a written doctor’s medical excuse. In such cases camp fees, less deposit, will be refunded if camper cannot be placed in an alternate
    session.

Program Cancellation:

  • Any program may be cancelled if enrollment for the program is lower than anticipated. A full refund will be given if no substitute program is available.
  • Notification of program cancellation will be made at least one month prior to start date.


Waiting List:

  • If desired program is full, campers can choose to be placed on a waiting list. All paperwork must be in by May 20th.
  • If placed, full payment is due no later than seven days after receiving notification of placement or at the beginning of the session, whichever comes first. Deposit is refundable if a wait-listed camper cannot be placed.
